Pour aider Sacha à découvrir la région d'Alola, le Professeur Euphorbe lui fait cadeau d'un Pokédex inhabituel, habité par un Motisma : un Motisma-Dex. La Team Rocket fait également connaissance avec la région d'Alola, et leur première rencontre avec un Pokémon sauvage est assez effrayante : un mystérieux Mimiqui fait vivre à Miaouss un véritable cauchemar ! Mais quand les bandits rencontrent Sacha et ses copains de classe, Mimiqui décide de combattre aux côtés de la Team Rocket, jusqu'au moment où un énorme Chelours kidnappe Jessie et James.Sacha est un peu déçu de ne pas avoir capturé Mimiqui, mais il se lance à la recherche de nouveaux Pokémon.
